I have been teaching 8th grade ELA for three years in Texas. In this role I have worked with a large ESL population. My students have consistently performed at the top of the district in frequent exams. I have helped write curriculum, develop professional development sessions, mentor teachers, and more!
I believe that all kids benefit from structure and love in the same environment. I embody the "Warm-Demander" teacher archetype, and I am proud of it. Students in my classroom recognize that they are held to high expectations, but that they will have my full support to help them get to where they need to go. Through consistent routines and feedback, I foster a loving and productive environment.
I am a TIA Recognized Teacher in the state of Texas.
I studied English Literature, Spanish, and Peace Justice & Human Rights at John Carroll University. I have a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature. I also have certifications in English Language Arts (7-12 grades) and ESL Education.
