TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 5 years in a low SES school in various social studies subjects (U.S. History, Student Government and Leadership, World History and AP World History, Pre AP World History and Geography, and Economics). Due to the demands of the student population, we focus heavily on integrating reading and writing skills into social studies classes. I also have 2 years of experience in tutoring middle school math and reading.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Student centered learning and activities. Active and engaging lessons, mostly games and stations. Large focus on reading and writing skills within the content area. Primary and Secondary source analysis. Inquiry based learning strategies.
