TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over ten years from the teeny tiny tots up to 6th grade. I have always loved working with children and nothing pays me more joy than to see that little "lightbulb" go off in a child's head when they really start to grasp a new concept. This motivated me to develop content that would not only be educational, but engaging as well. I currently teach with virtual school districts all over the country and write the English and Math curriculum for 2nd grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

When I am teaching, I like to get creative so I can engage all learners. I incorporate visuals, movement, and educational games into each an every lesson. When learning is fun, children feel confident and accomplished.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a certified K-6 teacher and hold an NVTA certification as well.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Coming from a long line of educators, caring for and teaching children has always been in my blood and in my heart. With a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from University of North Carolina Wilmington, I developed the knowledge and expertise that matched my passion for teaching and understanding of children's educational needs. I began teaching Pre-K and private Kindergarten students where the students seemed to have just as much of an impact on me as I had on them. I currently teach virtual core classes to 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade students, and am a curriculum writer for 2nd grade.
