I taught Chemistry and General Science in Secondary / High School for 4 years, followed by the next 3 years working as a Research Chemist. Then, I took up a Lecturer position to teach Chemistry and Applied Chemistry in a Technical Education Institution, which prepares young adults for laboratory work in the industry.
As much as possible, I would incorporate student-centered and hands-on activities in my classroom. I believe that the students are able retain knowledge better and become a more independent learner. Diagrams and flow-charts help my students to conclude a topic and relate the scientific terms in different topics.
