I started my teaching career by giving beginning guitar lessons at age 15. After many years as a church organist/choir director, professional singer and pianist, and teaching private lessons, I then taught public school, primarily elementary music, for over 20 years. I've also owned my own business teaching pre-school music -- I created my own curriculum for it. I retired from teaching in May 2021.
Eclectic! I started out teaching high school choir, then moved (up!) to elementary general/vocal, which I loved. I think it's important for children to sing, sing, and sing some more, especially at young ages. I'm also a big believer in performances, and my concerts were well received by my parents and administrators.
I've conducted honor choirs, and had choirs I've conducted receive top marks at state competitions. I used to work at the Denver School of the Arts -- our local "fame" school.
SUNY-Oswego (BA in Liberal Arts), SUNY-Buffalo (post grad work and gained certification). Master's degree in Integrated Teaching Through the Arts from Lesley University.
I'm a Colorado native who was accidentally born in upstate NY. Owned by my two cats, I happily live alone on the west side of Denver, near the mountains.
