TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Social Studies, Music and Dance for over twenty years. the majority of my classroom career has focused on U.S. History and Government. Currently I teach a range of electives including Sociology and Anthropology. Niche classes I get to teach vary all the way from the History of Disease to the Histories of Film and Music! I'm one LUCKY teacher!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I get bored easily, so we keep things movin' and shakin' quite a bit up in my room. A typical day of lessons will include things such as making videos, drawing out concepts, writing scripts for mini-documentaries, as well as the old time favorites of notes and writing papers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One time a student, who had just lost a dear friend in a house fire, said that my hugs are like magic.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from high school in Bagley Minnesota, north of Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi. I attended Bemidji State University for two years and the U of M, Morris for three years to earn a Social Science teaching degree and Dance Education minor. Post-grad education has focused on expanding the creative arts into the classroom (video editing) and studying Nutrition through Cornell.
