MY TEACHING STYLE

I am definitely a hands-on language arts teacher. My students read a text and then create their own meaning from it by producing writing, visuals, and performances that not only reinforce what they understand, but also spread that understanding to the students in my class and often me.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have been fortunate enough to have excellent teachers who inspired me all through my schooling -- especially my 5th grade teacher. It was in 5th grade that I knew I wanted to teach. My good luck has continued, and I now work with inspiring teachers who continue to encourage me and model what truly great teachers do.
