Bachelors in Music Education from the University of North Texas.
I am a music educator currently working in a large elementary school in North Texas. My school recently moved to a 1:1 ratio with each student from kindergarten on up receiving an iPad to bring to my music room. I know that integrating technology into the music classroom can be a challenge at times, and I'm here to help make integration easier with my own technological and musical understanding. I graduated from The University of North Texas in 2014 with my bachelor's degree in music education (EC-12), and have been teaching music since even before that day. I spent 3 years teaching woodwinds at a high school, 2 at a middle school, and I'm in my 4th year in my elementary school classroom, consisting of over 650 students. I also include my 5 years experience as a camp counselor here, since so many games and songs can be pulled into the music room! I've also had real-world musician experience with 10 years as a performing musician, playing for weddings, local events, and for local theaters and bands. I am proficient at many instruments, but consider the ukulele my current home instrument. Outside of this information, I live in North Texas with my beautiful husband of 3 years, our 4 cats, and 1 chihuahua. I moonlight as a professional artist and hold a fondness for the wonderful world of Pokemon.
