Daniel L. Eiland has been a teacher since 2005 and has been coaching robotics since 2010. He has a Masters of Education degree from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, and is a certified Gifted Educator. As a teacher, he was named the 2012 Gifted Teacher of the Year by the Baton Rouge Association of Gifted and Talented Students, the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year by the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, and the 2015 Volunteer of the Year of the Bayou Regional by the FIRST® Robotics Organization. Eiland has led his robotics team, Panthrobotics, to the World Championship twice; once in 2011 as a Regional Winner and once in 2015 as the Chairman’s Award winning team, the most prestigious award offered to FIRST Robotics Teams. His goal is to create an environment of safety for students to develop into responsible leaders.
