I am a Media Specialist that is shared between two K-5 schools in Troup County, Georgia. Although it is difficult to split my time between two places, I love my job and the opportunity to work in two different schools gives me a huge variety of experience! Prior to going back to school to earn my degree to become a Media Specialist, I worked in marketing and graphic design.
I believe the Media Center should be a warm, welcoming environment. Gone are the days when students had to be quiet. If the students associate the Media Center as a great place to be, they will associate reading with a positive experience as well.
