Before teaching, I worked as editor-in-chief of an online arts magazine and interned sporadically as a light assistant in theaters. In 2012, I began my career as an ELA teacher, working primarily with middle grades. I work with inclusion, regular, and advanced classes, so differentiation is very important to me. In 2017, I graduated with my masters in ESL Education, so I hope to provide many resources to help these students. I also teach an elective dramatic arts class for middle schoolers. I helped write pacing guides for my school system and I am RTI chair for my school.
I believe in student-centered classrooms that are based on peer interaction. I am passionate about social justice and cultural diversity in my classroom environment and curriculum.

Outside of the classroom, I am passionate about music, food, and travel. My husband is a professional musician, so music is a constant in our home and we make it a priority to attend live music performances. In the coming years, we want to travel more to experience new cultures. I am a self-titled "nerd" and I love to soak up any new information I can, whether it be from books, audiobooks, documentaries, news radio, or reliable internet sources. I believe appreciating culture and building bridges are the keys to educational success.
