High School Teacher Information, Communication and Technology / Business studies Coordinator Adobe Education Leader

I am a Facilitator. My focus in the classroom is to emphasise student-centred learning. Students are responsible for their own work, and must take the initiative to meet the demands of various learning tasks. This type of teaching style works best for me and my students. They are comfortable with the independent learning and can actively participate and collaborate with their peers.

I have completed my Bachelor of Secondary Education in Information Technology, Business studies and Religious Education. I am currently completing my Masters of Education, specialising in Curriculum.

Eden Carey is an ICT and Business Studies Coordinator and teacher in Western Australia. She teaches year 8 – 12 students Multimedia, ICT and Business Management and Enterprise. Many of her subjects also include certificate courses embedded within the subject, such as Certificate I in Information Technology and Certificate III Business Studies. This provides additional recognition of the hard work each student achieves. Eden successfully integrates Information Communication Technology into the classroom through the use of the iPad, Apple TV and interactive whiteboard. The curriculum content for ICT subjects involves the use of the Adobe Suite, such as, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator. She believes ICT resources help provide additional support in the classroom, adding engagement and enjoyment of the subject. She has presented lectures and workshops on various software applications including Adobe Photoshop and Flash at her own school and others through the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia.
