TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a public high school teacher in Nashville. I love literature and helping students understand why everyone should LOVE to read! I have been working with students in and out of the classroom for over ten years and absolutely love what I do! The majority of the students I teach are very low readers or ESL, so here you will find resources that not only interest students, but push them to be more fluent and confident in their English skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am creative and as my students would say, a little crazy, but it works. I like to use color, pictures, and high interest lessons to motivate my students to be life long learners and creative thinkers. Much of what I do requires the students to work independently and think for themselves. I am a firm believer that high school does NOT have to be boring!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am the English lead in my academy. Previous Freshman Seminar lead. I teach English I, English I Honors, English I Foundations (Special Ed.), and Speech.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a bachelor's in History from Lipscomb University with a minor in English. I earned my Master's degree in 7 - 12 education from Trevecca Nazarene University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a writer, singer, and an avid dog rescuer and reader. Hopefully my creativity and spunk show through in my products! Enjoy!
