Michael Hirtzel

I am currently a former Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator, Dual Credit United States History Professor. and classroom teacher. In the 16 years I spent in education I taught Texas History, World History, AP World History, United States History, and AP United States History.

I taught my students by building relationships with them and engaging them with fascinating stories throughout history. As a curriculum coordinator I strived to simplify curriculum so that teachers could spend their time inspiring students instead of trying to make sense of what to teach and when to teach it. I took care of that for them. If you follow my curriculum guides, your students will succeed on the test!

I received my M.A. degree with Honors from American Military University My M.A. Thesis reversed over 150 years of incorrect history about the infamous Civil War/ Andersonville prisoner, Felix De La Baume. The paper was awarded honors by American Military University.

B.A. Professional Studies with 35 hours in upper-level History from Southwestern Assemblies of God University M.A. History with a concentration in the Civil War from American Military University

I am a father of two wonderful girls In my spare time, I am a professional videographer and am currently working on a documentary I produced and directed, Calcutta is my Mother. I am also a competitive golfer,
