I am in my tenth year of teaching. I was a non-traditional student who decided to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher after many years. My first three years of teaching, I worked as a special education teacher serving Kindergarten and First Grade students who had deficits in math and reading. Although my job could be quite challenging and overwhelming at times, I absolutely loved it! Last year, I ventured into a classroom. Currently, I am a first grade teacher and loving every minute of it!! When I look back, I am so happy I made the decision to return to the classroom nine years ago and pursue my education and fulfill my dreams.
