Matthew Wills has had over thirty years experience teaching Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Education in excellent schools. He is the project manager for the Ethics Olympiad Project. He was, until recently, the Head of Philosophy and Ethics at Hale School in Perth, Western Australia. While at Hale School he was instrumental in the introduction and growth of Philosothons in each Australian state and the UK. In 2009 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship. He went on to help establish the Australasian Philosothon which has been run annually since 2011. He also initiated the introduction of Philosothons in Europe and other parts of Asia. In 2013 he conducted trials in a new initiative he called an Ethics Olympiad between Australian and US schools. Today Olympiads are held in capital cities throughout Australasia annually. In 2017 he commenced work on the Ethics Olympiad project and has been instrumental in its growth and development. Thousands of schools participate annually in Ethics Olympiads.

In 2013 he was awarded two scholarships. He visited the US and the UK in April having been awarded an NGS Scholarship. In the US he attended the first US National High School Ethics Bowl. Later in 2013, he visited seven European counties and Israel to conduct seminars for teachers having been awarded an Australia Award from the Federal Australian Government.
