MARSHA SANDERSLEIGH

I have taught math for 17 years in the classroom. Subects include: basic math, hands-on algebra, geoometry, trigonometry, AP computer programming, and learning support (college). I left the classroom in 2005 to work with CEISMC (Center of Education Intergrating Science Math and Computing) at Georgia Tech. While at CEISMC I conducted teacher professional development conferences for teachers - grade 3 to grade 12.

Project- based learning -- hands-on. My goal is to have students finish my classes liking math and knowing that they are capable in mathematics.

Professional Prensentations: 2008, 2009, 2010 Georgia Council for Teachers of Mathematics Introduction of how to use Geometer’s Sketchpad in the math classroom for grades 3-12. 2007 GAETC (Georgia Educatonal Technology Conference) and National Education Computing Conference Algebra + Geometry + Technology = Student Comprehension Focus on the following technology: SmartBoard, Geometer’s Sketchpad, TI Smart View Regional NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) 2003 “Looking at the world with a different view, Kaleidoscopes” GCTM (Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics) 2002, 2003 “How to make Kaleidoscopes” , for middle school and elementary teachers
