I was in the public school system for over 6 years. I taught each of the middle school sciences, Physical, Earth, and Life Science. During my years teaching in the public school system, I taught math summer school and various writing enrichment classes. My college internship afforded me the opportunity to work in an 8th Grade Social Studies class. Over the years, I have taught various aged Bible school classes. For over a decade now, I have been homeschooling my 6 children. I have learned more from this experience than all the rest. Even now, I teach science twice a month for our homeschool group. I still love it!
I appreciate structure, but get just as excited as the kids do to experience hands-on learning. Layering a child's learning is crucial to their development in concrete understanding of ideas and concepts. I am a life long learner who embraces a myriad of learning strategies. I believe the right teaching tools can make all the difference!
