Before I started teaching elementary, I taught preschool for five years, working as a director and head teacher. I have now been teaching elementary school for the last 32 years. I specialize in the primary grades. I have worked as an ELD coach, BTSA support provider, mentor teacher, and peer coach for my district. I have presented at CABE several times over the last ten years with emphasis on SDAIE, ELD, and thematic units focusing on strategies to help ELL's succeed in the classroom. I have also presented at (CMC) California Math Council Conference and CTAGO.
I enjoy incorporating hands on learning with high engagement into my everyday curriculum! I also strive to always meet the needs of my ELL students. I enjoy teaching about the environment.

As an elementary school student I struggled with a learning disability and was a non reader until 6th grade when I had a fantastic teacher who changed the course of my life. After working with this teacher for one year I achieved on level proficiency in all subjects. She inspired me to become a teacher and help others achieve academic success in their own endeavors. I went to community college and later I transferred to UC Davis where I completed my undergraduate and graduate work.
I am a mom of two children. I have a son who is 22 and just graduated from Berklee Collage of Music in Boston and a 13 year old daughter I adopted from Foster Care. I have been married for 28 years. Family is my number one priority. I see myself as an advocate for children.
