TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience includes 27 years in the classroom, with students ages 4-10, a role as assistant principal, and staff development. I have a master's in educational leadership, graduate work in early childhood education, and am pursuing a graduate certificate in nature-based education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Every year we get a new pack of kids with their own individual and group dynamics. While some educational experiences are appropriate year after year, I find myself constantly tweaking and searching for the just right fit for the kids I have in front of me. My favorite teaching occurs outside, guiding students to discover how much they can learn with nature as my teaching partner.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated to be the Lincoln County Teacher of the Year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Master's Degree in Educational Leadership

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Midcoast Maine is a beautiful spot to teach. I work to teach with nature as the guide. I use my experience in mushroom identification, hiking, gardening, and mindfulness practices to create powerful learning for my students.
