I have been teaching for the past 10yrs. or so and have experience teaching in private schools (with and without religious affiliations) and public schools, 7th-12th grades.
My teaching style tends to lean more toward the casual than rigid...I expect students to behave in an appropriate manner, but also want them to feel comfortable to ask questions and learn the skills necessary to become independent learners (a skill they will need in college).
Phi Eta Sigma and Dean's list in college, and numerous extemporaneous student and parent comments stating that I'm awesome :-)
BA in Classics/Classical Civilizations (minors in religion, philosophy, and archaeology) and a MA in Latin and Secondary Education. Additional graduate-level classes in Latin, methods, computers and technology in education, as well as coursework relating to online instruction.
I love to read and craft during my downtime, have pets (kitties), and get along with almost everyone :-)
