Susan McHugh has been working as a freelance elearning instructional designer for the last 15 years. She has a TEFL certificate and has taught English in Barcelona, and teaches pre-teen French students who come to Ireland for the summer. She used to source exciting and relevant learning content from Youtube and other social media platforms for her students. But when it came to grammar, there was nothing suitable. And so, with the help of her own children, Susan came up with Mac And Rory’s Grammar Stories.
Nobody likes learning grammar rules: they are hard to remember and aren’t very interesting. On the other hand, everyone likes a good story, especially one with characters that we care about and can relate to. So, our teaching style is making content fun, relevant, using stories, multidimensional characters in a format that pre-teen students will enjoy.
We’ve no awards yet, but we know it’s just a matter of time!
Susan has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Arts in Interactive Multimedia.
Susan lives in Dublin with her husband, two kids and her dog, Tucker, who makes an appearance in Mac And Rory's Grammar Stories.
