20 years of teaching. 3 years as a special educator and the rest as a general education teacher with many opportunities to continue working with students with special needs and collaborating with other teaching professionals. I am a teacher leader and have a passion to continue to learn and grow and refine my craft.
I love hands-on, active learning and believe problem-solving is a necessary part of not only learning, but a life skill to be taught and developed in our students. Learning must be authentic and connect to students. I feel it is important to explain why we learn a subject or use certain strategies so students can make connections to every day life and/or other subjects. Social-Emotional learning is crucial for all students and teachers and is infused within the day.
