TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been tutoring hundreds of students of all ages in various subjects for several decades. I specialise in high school English and EAL (English as an Additional Language), and I relish my role as an educator! Customised English worksheets are available on request.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Learning through play in a positive way. Thinking young; staying young. Delivering tailor-made tutoring by adapting all resources to engage students, and make learning enjoyable and satisfying. Paying it forward. Not counting the minutes or the money.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Rotary Youth Leadership Award. My greatest reward as an educator is seeing my students smile and reach their goals. For example: getting a high mark, being top of the class, securing entrance into a selective school, receiving a high school scholarship or improving English language fluency and accent reduction (when requested). Most importantly, achieving a personal best in any area, and feeling the satisfaction that it brings. No-one can take that away from you.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

A big, fat, final-year failure. Struggled against the challenges of ADHD's (dysfunctional) executive functioning skills, but survived to become a self-taught, self-directed, self-paced success story. You can do it, too! Reach out and reap your rewards. Circumventing the broken parts of the education system, to support the challenges (and champion the strengths) of special needs' students of all ages and backgrounds.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live with my wonderful husband and Kimochi Cat in Sydney, Australia, where we board cats. I also teach piano, keyboard, guitar, descant recorder, singing and songwriting.
