I am a third year 5th grade teacher. I learn something new on a daily basis from my students and co-workers. I strive to find what works for my students so that they can be successful in my classroom, school and life.
I try to incorporate group work on a daily basis so that students can learn from one another. Hearing strategies from someone other than myself may be what makes the light bulb flash. My favorite time in the classroom is when I can work with a small group of students. I enjoy pulling small groups because it allows me to work with a smaller number of students and really see their ability levels. I can get inside their head and learn from them.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Children's Literature at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I believe a good teacher is a good learner. We are constantly learning new strategies and programs that we implement into our classrooms. When I hear a good idea I try to tweek it so that it fits me and implement it quickly to see if it works. I love "stealing" great ideas from people that I can incorporate into my lessons and use to enhance student learning.
