I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) since 2008. I currently see young children in their home but I have worked with children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
I believe in a functional, family-based approach. I am an expert (or I try to be) in the area of speech and language, but the family is the expert on their child. I need them as much as they need me to make improvements. I try to incorporate three things: the family, my experience, and evidence :)
I received my Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the Pennsylvania State University (WE ARE!), and my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh.
