Hunter is a preschool teacher to a classroom full of sweet kiddos and mom to a precious baby girl. Hunter also has teaching experience in elementary, middle and high school special education. She taught high school special education for four years before transitioning to teaching preschool so she could spend more time with her little one. She loves creating and figuring out just how many skills can be practiced and taught with one pretend play set! Becca is a homeschool mom who loves to create and loves her children deeply, and there are just no words for how much she loves combining those two things! She has three boys, ages 3, 5, and 7, and a sweet 1 year old girl. Her boys love role play games and she got into open ended, pretend play because of them. As a homeschool mom (and former online ESL teacher), she appreciates when those games have deeper purpose, like helping kids practice important skills or learn new things. She also loves that printable pretend play sets take up so little storage space, since minimalism and organization are another thing she really enjoys. And yes, her boys insist on playing with everything she creates and their excitement and enthusiasm is contagious!
Hunter loves a good schedule (especially a pictured supported one) and encouraging student independence. She enjoys opportunities for one on one instruction, so she can meet the students where they are. This is one reason Hunter is so passionate about our pretend play sets, because of the differentiated learning opportunities they provide. Becca on the other hand loves structure with flexibility. She likes to be available for whatever the day holds while also making sure to achieve goals and nurture the minds of her sweet littles. While she enjoys sitting down with curriculum, she loves the opportunity to teaching through creative play and encouraging her kids to learn independently as they engage in thoughtfully curated pretend play activities.
Hunter was recognized as teacher of the year during her time as a special education teacher.
Hunter has a bachelor's degree in Adapted Special Education K12 from Appalachian State University. Becca has a bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies from North Greenville University.
Little Mama Paper Co is the passion project and creative collaboration of Hunter and Becca. One day Becca video called Hunter to show her the latest pretend play set she'd made for her boys, and the rest is history! We both love Jesus and our faith shapes everything we do in life, including teaching and creating. We create to glorify the greatest Creator and while we love teaching math concepts, colors and numbers, and more, we care most about teaching the foundational truths of the Gospel to those in our lives and under our care. We have way too much fun working on these projects together and we are so excited to share them with you so you can be equipped with fun and helpful tools, that are bright and beautiful.
