Little Geniuses

Joanne is a seasoned educator, with extensive background in literacy, math and special education. Joanne is one of the original co-founders of "Box Cars and One-Eyed Jacks" and has co-authored over 15 teacher resource game books sold world-wide. Her most current two math resources focus on using dominoes and dice as motivating fun tools, to help children become more confident in their math skills. Joanne has taken her passion to a new level that fosters student-centered, inquiry based learning to meet the demands of 21st Century Learners. Joanne is regarded as an expert in teacher professional development and has been a key note speaker and has presented math and literacy workshops for more than 20 years.

Joanne's pedagogical philosophy is grounded in the belief that children learn best in a collaborative environment that is hands-on, engaging, open-ended and inquiry based.

Joanne continues to create new and exciting math and literacy resources that compliment any elementary teacher's classroom. Joanne continues to volunteer in the classroom and believes that this helps her keep current with what is happening in schools today. This also helps her prioritize what resources are most needed and most effective for students, of all learning styles and abilities.
