By Little Footsteps Big Learning I am a homeschool mom. I have taught preschool for 7 years. Those years were spent teaching preschool at a specialty school for kids with autism, at a daycare, and in my own home. I also spent 1 year in a life skills special needs class in an Elementary School (grades K-5).
The foundation of my teaching style is Howard Garner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences. This theory is based on 8 different ways of learning. These include learning through pictures, nature, music, logic, words, people, hands-on activities, and self-discovery. I focus on teaching with a variety of approaches to help the students become well rounded in the way they reach out to the knowledge that is in the world around them.
