TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching since 1998 and have gained experience in various fields, including middle school theater, yoga, and K-8 teaching. However, my primary focus is on teaching in the field of primary education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As an educator, I believe in blending different professional teaching styles to provide the best learning experience for my students. My approach involves coaching, sharing knowledge, demonstrating expertise, and providing constructive feedback to enhance understanding and promote learning. Rather than lengthy lectures, I prefer breaking down topics into smaller, more digestible segments. I tailor my teaching methods to match the appropriate learning scenarios and adapt to individual student needs. To foster critical thinking, I design collaborative learning activities and classroom projects. I observe students during group work, offer consultation, and encourage interaction to achieve learning objectives. Utilizing various strategies, including multimedia, theater, and technology, I strive to create an engaging and dynamic classroom environment. Above all, I emphasize the growth mindset, acknowledging that mistakes present valuable opportunities for learning and development.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a Bachlor's degree and Master's degree in EdTech and Theater, which supports my passion for integrating multimedia into educational curriculum and theatrical education for my primary and secondary students. I also have seven various yoga certifications which include a kids yoga certification.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

It started with theater and teaching kids to read using theatrical concepts. I realized I loved teaching theater, but I also loved teaching kids reading! I became a primary school teacher and earned my master's degree in theater. Plus I just loved to teach! I am a yoga teacher and have taught kids and adults yoga for years. I am now more focused on integrating all of these elements and bringing them to the biggest stage each day-THE CLASSROOM!
