I started my higher education with a Biology undergrad degree from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. I moved to Okinawa, Japan with my Army husband and taught English as a Second Language for several years. When we returned to the United States, I worked for a pharmaceutical company as a Microbiologist and soon realized that I preferred teaching. We started a family and I completed my Masters in Education. I have taught 7th-grade life science for 15 years in a public Middle School. Middle schoolers, sometimes you love them, sometimes you don't, and sometimes you do both in the same day. I see science everywhere. And believe as Pope Francis articulated, the Big Bang theory and evolution do not eliminate the existence of God, who remains the one who set all of creation into motion. Pope Francis added that God’s existence does not contradict the discoveries of science.
I'd say my teaching style is eclectic. I like to change things up every fifteen minutes or so. It is my style to engage students with the multiple approaches in one class period and create a multifaceted lesson that they connect with. My teaching style jibes with Aristotle's philosophy, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts".
Yet to be added
I have a BS in Biology for Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts and a Masters in Education from Rivier College in New Hampshire.
For each of us, many diverse interests create a whole person. For me, I'm parent to three twenty-something year olds, a grandmother to a 2 beautifully amazing grandsons and wife of 30+ years. I am passionate about my faith, and I am a naturalist at heart (I see science and the hand of The Creator everywhere). I am a spender of time with my husband, an artist, a collector of sand samples from around the world, a dark chocolate lover and a gypsy soul.
