TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 26th year of teaching. (Time flies when you’re having fun!) I spent 4 years teaching literacy and social studies in 6th grade, 15 years teaching 5th grade, and 7 years in 4th. I have also served as a Master Economics Teacher for Economics Arkansas for the past 17 years, and as the elementary economics coordinator for my district. I have my Middle Level Generalist National Board Certification. I am also the teacher/sponsor of an after school - Young Entrepreneurs Club.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is organized chaos! I believe in hands-on, experiential learning whenever possible. I feel that it is extremely important to know my students and do everything possible to meet their individual learning styles and needs. I am a firm believer that building relationships with my students is vital - they don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care! Love, Teach, Repeat is my mantra!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a Master Economics Teacher for my state, and I work with Economics Arkansas to help provide professional development workshops for teachers around the state. I have won several awards for economics education.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my BS degree from Arkansas Tech University, and I have my Middle Level Generalist National Board Certification.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I absolutely love my life! I have the best job in the world, I'm married to my very best friend, I have amazing children and family, and the best friends and church on the planet. My husband is a college baseball umpire, so we are definitely a baseball household. I love traveling with him to games during the summer and often turn it into lesson ideas! People have been telling me for years that I should be posting items on TPT, but I am just now taking the time to start doing it! Please check back often to see new products being added.
