Learning Full STEAM Ahead

I have taught K-8th grades. K-5 STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). I have taught self contained 3-5. I have also been 4/5 departmentalized responsible for math, science, social studies, and/or language arts. I've taught middle school history and middle school science.

My classroom is loud, a little messy, and truly fun. The lessons are authentic and connected to the real world.

PAEMST State finalist 2018 and 2023. Participant and mentor in the Smithsonian national air and space museum teacher innovator institute 2019-present. Michelson Exxon Mobil Teachers Academy Fellow 2016, NASA EPD STEM Ambassador 2015, Oklahoma Education and Industry Partnership Fellow 2015-2016, Member of many organizations including NSTA, NCTM, Oklahoma Science Teachers Association, Oklahoma Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Participated in Oklahoma State Department of Education’s OKSci Leadership, beta class and was selected as OKMath/OKSci Classes 1 and 2 mentor. Served on the state of Oklahoma science standards writing committee, district level textbook selection and math and science curriculum revision committees, Math and Science Partnership Mini-grant review committee for the State Department of Education. Recipient of numerous Grants. Presenter at education conferences such as SEEC 2020, Vision2020, Oklahoma State University CSTL STEM Summit, OCTM and OSTA annual conferences, as well as district and site level professional development sessions.
