I am currently teaching Kindergarten. I have had experience in several other grades at the elementary level including 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades.
My style includes hands on engagement and higher order learning. I teach cross curricular lessons based on Common Core Standards. I teach using Whole Brain Teaching strategies and I implement parts of the Daily 5 in order to differentiate in my classroom! I am learning more and more about technology and embrace the 21st century learner in each of my students!
I was named the Literacy Undergraduate Student of the Year at my institution, Western Kentucky University, in 2011.
I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I often attend professional development well past the mandatory hours simply because I love to learn new strategies for the classroom. I have my masters degree in School Counseling.
I love to learn new things and always looking for fun and engaging lessons for my Kindergarten kiddos!
