TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I graduated in May 2013 and earned a first grade teaching position in August 2013. I recently relocated and received a PreK position. I am nervous, but extremely excited for the new change.

MY TEACHING STYLE

- Lead whole group, individual, and small group instruction in order to expand the range of learning -Implement differentiated instruction and assignments in order to accommodate the diverse needs of my students. -Maintain a warm, interactive classroom atmosphere, enabling students to have a positive classroom environment -Establish positive classroom management strategies that successfully handled challenging behavior issues -Maintain individual student portfolios that included skill checklists, goal charts, progress monitoring data, and graded work samples with rubrics

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

• Kappa Delta Epsilon – Honorary Educational Fraternity President (Honor) • Dean’s List 2009 – 2013 (Honor) • HOPE Scholarship (Award) • Georgia Council for Teachers of Mathematics (Member) • I had the honor of being asked by the Department Chair of the College of Education at Georgia Regent’s University to participate in interviews conducted by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) • I was also asked by the Department Chair of the College of Education at Georgia Regent’s University to pilot a program called EdTPA. EdTPA is a multiple-measure assessment system designed by Stanford University. It is aligned to state and national standards with the common goal of making sure college students hoping to become teachers are able to teach students as effectively as possible and improve student achievement.
