Kristen Miller

I have taught grades K-8th in a variety of settings over a ten year period of time. I have traditional classroom experience as well as outdoor education experience. I enjoy working with various grade levels and I am currently working in an eighth grade science position at an awesome middle school in Oceanside CA.

I develop lessons that blend many styles of education together. It is my goal to give my students the most well rounded education I can. I glean from current events, historical sources, my colleagues, and as many sources as I can to give my students an education from a variety of viewpoints. I am currently teaching science for eighth grade where I offer lots of engineering and hands on learning coupled with strong emphasis on literacy skills.

Honorable mention from the mayor of San Diego country in 2014-2015 for creating a stimulating classroom experience for my students.

I enjoy nature and try to blend aspects of the outdoors into my lessons on a regular basis. All the subjects can be found in the great out of doors from art and math in a seashell to history in the rings of a redwood, to science in the balance of all the earth.
