TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my career teaching PreK for 3 years. That is some kind of work! They are busy, busy! Then, I moved up to my true love...3rd grade. I have left this grade level a time or two, but always come back to my third grade home. This is my 20th year teaching and yes, the experience does help, but I find myself learning new things every day. Teaching is a constant learning career...and Teachers Pay Teachers has given me so many wonderful things over the years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am definitely more "relaxed" when it comes to my teaching style. There is a constant "discussion" going on in my classroom....at times whole group, but most of the time that "discussion" is among the students. I like to give them things to think about and talk about. Also, there will always be some sort of technology used in my classroom....the ideas are endless!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Oh gosh...awards...I don't know...have been nominated for teacher of the year and that is quite an honor because just to be nominated at my school is flattering....I work with some amazing people! And I guess I see it as my honor each day to work with some amazing people and teach some great students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended a small private school K-12, then headed to a much larger place...UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA!! Go dawgs! Quite a change in size, but I loved it. I received my masters degree from Troy State University through a cohort program in Georgia. Loved that set up.....met with my group and did some online so I wasn't on the road or classroom all the time. I also received my Gifted Endorsement and love watching those creative minds work.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As my store name implies...I love to knit! It is my release and I love making things for others. My girls, ages 13 and 10, are very involved with travel softball here in Georgia. And when I say travel...I mean we travel all over! So that keeps me busy and leads me to selling on TPT because it takes a LOT of extra cash for lessons and hotels,etc, etc, etc....but we love every minute of it!
