KJ Special Ed

K & J have 8 years of teaching experience in a New York City specialized school for children with moderate to severe disabilities. Between the two of us we have taught every age group from K-12. In addition K has taught music/dance and J has taught art.

We specialize in teaching for children with moderate to severe activities. Our students require lots of adaptation including visual cues. We enjoy creating our own texts and worksheets with pictures as well as words. We both have experience teaching remotely as well as in the classroom.

We met in Grad School during the New York City Teaching Fellows intensive program. We each have an MSEd in Education of Students with Disabilities, grade 1-6, and have continued our education since graduating, both earning 30 credits beyond our Masters.

K is a trained singer and actress. J is a member of Mensa and an artist and author. We are an engaged couple in NYC.
