I have twenty four years in public education with most of those years spent teaching first grade. I've also been my school's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Coordinator for the last 15 years and oversee about 100 students' GATE Program at my school site. I'm in my second year of teaching kindergarten and IT IS THE BEST!
I prefer my students to have hands-on, play based learning experiences whenever possible! I try to adapt all curriculum and lessons to be developmentally appropriate and child friendly. School should be fun!
My dog, Pickles McGriddle, thinks I'm pretty awesome! :)
My Bachelors of Science is in Child and Adolescent Studies (aka Child Development) from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). My California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential was completed at CSUF. I also have a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and I have completed a Certificate in Gifted Education from the University of California, Riverside.
