TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been in education for more than 19 years. I’ve had the opportunity to work as a Learning/Intervention Specialist as well as a third grade, fourth grade, and advanced math teacher. I have been fortunate to have worked with diverse groups of learners who have continuously motivated me to stay current with best teaching practices and find ways to help all students succeed.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Over the years, I have been exposed to a variety of teaching styles and practices. Although I feel as though my teaching is always a work in progress, I gravitate towards a combination of child-centered and hands-on strategies mixed with systematic and explicit instruction. I believe students should be engaged in the learning process and that as teachers, we must meet students "where they are" in their educational journey.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I'm "honored" each time I see students smile, say thank you, give a hug, or have that "light bulb" moment!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a mother of two wonderful boys and I love spending time with them hiking, swimming, going to the coast, cooking, reading, etc.
