TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for five years now and I have taught grades 4, 6, 7 and 8. I have taught Math, Science, EAST, and Robotics. I am currently teaching 7th and 8th grade math and robotics. I also tutor grades 6 through 12 after school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students learn best with a hands on approach. The students we are currently teaching need to be able to move and discover and do not do well in a lecture situation. Now there are days where every teacher has to teach and the students have to listen, but I believe in teaching everyday using every learning style. It is my mission to reach all of my students everday. I like to use interactive powerpoints, jeopardy style games, scavenger hunts, stations, and much more.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am currently working towards my National Board Certification in mathematics.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I was working towards my pre-med biology degree with hopes of becoming a Pediatrician when I decided I wanted to teach instead. I received my bachelors degree in middle school math and science education and then took the test to be certified in 7-12 math. I am also working towards my certification in k-12 computer science.
