TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I previously taught one year in a fifth grade regular education classroom and now will be starting my first year as a 3rd-6th grade gifted education teacher. My focus for gifted education is robotics and how to use robotics effectively in a classroom setting with gifted learners.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am currently teaching my morning robotics independently. In this time, I do individual work, partner work, and group work on certain activities. At the beginning of the day and the end of the day, I work as a team teacher for the elementary gifted program. We trade off responsibilities and teach anything from team building to social skills and science to mathematics. We are sort of jack of all trades, but my current area of main study is robotics with the students in grades 3-6.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Truman State University in 2012 and my Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from Truman State University in May of 2013. I also have certification for K-12 gifted education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married and have a puppy named Shelby with whom I spend most of my time! Outside of my family and school, I ride horses and like doing crafty things with my hands and a hot glue gun!
