The approaches that are the most relatable to me are the Comprehension Approach (1980) and the Communicative Approach (1980). I show respect to the "silent period" stage of beginner students and that they feel no pressure to speak. It also helps to lower their “affective filter” (hypothesis introduced by Stephen Krashen). The emotional state of my students has the highest priority for me as a teacher. I make sure that my student gets enough meaningful and eye-catching “comprehensible input”. As the Communicative Approach is a way for people to connect through language, it is probably the best approach to use for adult students who want to travel, find new friends from different countries, or learn new cultures.
