TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught at the elementary level for 30 years. Now I am semi-retired and work part-time as a substitute in all grades K - high school. I enjoy keeping in touch with teachers and students very much.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I always observe and listen carefully to students to find what they are most interested in learning. I think it is important to know a planned curriculum and be able to engage students by leading them through relevant lessons. I try to model and demonstrate desired outcomes and measureable objectives.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was chosen by the Oakland district in Michigan to write kindergarten language arts lesson plans for their SCoPE model curriculum website project in 1998 - 1999.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

graduate of Michigan State University, College of Education BA and MA degrees
