I taught full-time for 15 years. My approach to education has always incorporated my experiences from teaching students in the private, charter, and public school systems. Since becoming a mother, the reality of intelligent, but active and disengaged students intensified my drive and was added to the way I structured my classroom. I have taught grades ranging from 5th -12th grade. I have a passion for upper elementary and middle school education and truly cherish the relationships I was able to foster while in the classroom. I love expanding my teaching experience and passion for research by creating and helping teachers implement engaging strategies via curriculum design and community outreach.
I am all about hands-on learning! Learning should be both a mental and physical activity, especially for young people. I believe that true mastery is about connecting all the dots and that you have to dig deep in order to find them all.

Over the years, I have tried to take what I have learned, "in the trenches" of the classroom, and craft that knowledge and wisdom into creating academic journeys for my students. I'm motivated primarily by the fact that, though, I have always loved learning about new things, I was not a fan of school...AT ALL. With each new learning experience, I want my students to take away an interest in the topic that extends beyond the textbook and test preparation. In short, I do my best every day to try and bridge that gap for all young minds, which are filled with curiosity about EVERYTHING! Additionally, I love to travel with my family, devise "secretly" educational adventures for my 12-year-old son and his friends, and eat pretty much any type of chocolate ice cream with nuts.
