My teaching journey began in 2012 when I made the switch from corporate event planning to the elementary classroom. At the time, I knew I needed a change in my life, but I had no idea how absolutely blessed I would be by becoming a teacher. It has been a sincere JOY to share my classroom with so many children over the years. I have primarily been a 5th grade Math/Science teacher, however I have taught all 5th grade subjects as well as 3rd grade math and science. I have served as Team Leader for many years, and have loved mentoring younger teachers along the way. I believe my greatest strength lies in my commitment and ability to cultivate beautiful classroom communities, spreading JOY through teaching and creating lifelong learners. That is why I am here in this space now - to share some of that with you in hopes that you too can enjoy the fruits of a well established classroom community.
Learning should be FUN! I firmly believe that by building and cultivating a strong classroom community, teachers and students will have the JOY of mutual respect and trust. The result is a learning experience of depth in which children feel safe, valued, and develop a lifetime love of learning. It is my belief that this is how we truly make an impact as educators.
