My love for music started at the age of 6, when I started taking piano lessons. I then went on to also learn the clarinet, and played both instruments throughout college. After earning my bachelors in music education degree, I started my first teaching position in the middle of the school year at a low income elementary school. Having few resources and teaching materials, I was asked to restart the music program which had been non existent for 7 years. Over the next several years, I created my own curriculum map and developed lesson plans that met my students where they were at. Now, I'm passionate about helping mentor and help other elementary music teachers through my blog, podcast, and free resources at www.thedomesticmusician.com as well as The Elementary Music Teacher Academy for new elementary music teachers and the HARMONY membership site for all elementary music teachers. You can find out more about these programs on my website.
