TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 20th year in Education and I still love it as if it were my first! I was an Elementary Principal for 10 years and went back into the classroom 4 years ago. I now teach 2nd grade and feel like I come to an exciting and fun place everyday. I'm just having a BLAST!!!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am definantly a Hands-on teacher! I think this comes from my Early Childhood background. I do not like workbooks or standard worksheets. I have 22 rotating "Literacy Stations" in my classroom that my students love going to. I know I'm doing something right when it's time for lunch and they don't want to leave their center! In the beginning, it was hard work creating my program,but now I get to watch amazing learning taking place and it was ALL worth it. My stations promote hand-on learning styles and social interaction. My students literally teach each other, and this is something I love watching!
