I have taught for 18 years. I started in Florida and now am in Michigan. In 2007 I was honored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Exceptional Teacher of Technology, and by the Michigan Association of School Board as Michigan's Best.
I believe that students must be actively involved in learning. My activities and units all keep the students engaged through multiple tasks and higher level thinking. I have aligned my units to the Common Core and College and Career Readiness standards. Argumentative writing is a feature in all my units.
In 2007 I was honored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Exceptional Teacher of Technology, and by the Michigan Association of School Board as Michigan's Best. I also was a regional candidate for Michigan Teacher of the Year.
I earned my B.S. in Education from Central Michigan University. My Master's degree is also from CMU. This is in Educational Technology. I currently am in the process of writing my dissertation on Standards Based Learning and will earn my Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. This will be my third degree from CMU.
I love teaching and sharing what works in the classroom.
