I have taught for a total of 6 years, and prior to that I had 4 years of substitute/student teaching experience. I have worked in both private and public schools, and I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Most of my experience has been in the 7th and 8th grades! I am certified in Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies. I have taught all 3 content areas, but my focus for the past 5 years has been Language Arts.
I like to create student focused lesson plans that engage students in hands-on learning. I believe "self discovery" leads to the best retention of information. I enjoy doing brain research to better know how to serve my students and their multiple intelligences.
